The same day that we went to the Hello Kitty cafe, I bought some awesome worsted weight yarn at Banul.
We were invited to a baby shower for one of the family’s in Jay’s unit, and my tradition is to always make a handmade gift for such occasions.
I’m so glad that my crochet hooks were on my list of must haves on our first shipment of goods!
I decided to make a baby set – cardigan/vest, bonnet, and booties.
All three of these patterns are super easy and work up super quick. I made the three items in less than 3 days.
Here are the patterns I used:
- Bev’s Baby Shirt
- Newborn Pixie Hat
- LionBrand Easy Baby Booties (must have a log-in) This is the easiest bootie pattern I have found!
I call the color scheme Cherry Crush because it reminds me of a fun summer drink. The buttons are also from Banul.
Do you think the colors are too bright/wild for a newborn?
I hope the special mommy enjoys this set. My next project is some little pouches that you can put a bar of soap in – kind of like a washcloth + soap that you just have to get wet. I bought cream and strawberry cotton yarn for those.
- Crochet Owl Hats
- Polly Esther Purse (sewing)
- Homemade Lacing Cards (paper/craft)
- Humbug Bags (sewing)
