Today we completed our first notebooking pages for our Beowulf study. (and I also got a new camera- can you tell?)
We read about how Beowulf went under the murky water to grapple with Grendel’s mother. He was almost killed, but he prevailed.
When blood stained the waters above, Hrothgar thought that Beowulf had been defeated, and he went home to Heorot.
But Beowulf was simply gaining a trophy.
Beowulf and his men burst into the great hall carrying Grendel’s head.
While Raven focused on Beowulf and his fighting for her illustrations and notebooking pages, Denna chose to focus on the touching scene where Beowulf and his men depart for their home country.
Just one more chapter to go!
I posted some free public domain resources for studying Beowulf over at Homeschool Commons today. And I also finished making notebooking pages for chapter 2! (click the download button below)
